The project

Tursi Digital Nomads is a project based on remote working that aims to revalue and repopulate small villages in Italy and Greece.

The project started with the aim to establish a community of Digital Nomads from all over the world in small village to spend a period of "workation" (vacation/work) in an unconventional location while enjoying the charm of living in a thousand-year-old village,
working from a coworking space located in a former monastery from the 1600s and discovering local places and traditions.

Tursi Digital Nomads, active since 2021, is in its fifth year of life and it scaled to multiple locations in Italy and Greece.

100+ Digital Nomads from all over the world participated in the summer project Remote in Tursi,
through which a strong contribution was made to the local economy, in particular accommodation facilities and third sector entities, in addition to the positive social impact due to the interaction between different professionalisms and ethnic groups and local inhabitants.

"I was looking to find a way to reduce the stress due to working from home 100%, so I had the idea of creating a coworking space inside a former monastery in the old part of my village. That's how Tursi Digital Nomads was born."
